Step into a world where stories steep like tea – ENJOY theatre in a saga of trade deals, diplomacy, and questionable deeds.
A Teapot Tale promises to be thought provoking and, at the same time, have audiences smiling and enjoying a cup of Chinese tea. Set in a luxurious Chinese hotel foyer during New Year celebrations in 2020, two Australian women enter into trade negotiations for hotel supplies. A little spilt tea may well be on the cards when Australia and China are put in a room together, however the women, their agent, their interpreter and their Chinese merchant manage to successfully pull off the deal. How then, did the Australian women find themselves in hot water? The very thing we fear happening, happens. Someone breaks the rules.
