AUDITION EOI!

Trophy Boys is a sharp, queer dark comedy by Australian playwright Emmanuelle Mattana that satirises power, privilege, and the performance of masculinity through the high stakes world of an elite high school debating team. This PIP Theatre production as part of MELT Festival marks the first time the playwright has approved an independent staging outside of the recent national tour and off Broadway season.

Performed by a female and non-binary cast in drag, the show unfolds in real time as the boys are locked in a classroom for their one-hour prep window, and forced to argue that “feminism has failed women”.

Applications close April 1st!

This powerful, heart-warming story is set in a community hall in a regional town, where a disparate group of locals gather to sing through grief, loss, and change. The story’s message of healing through shared music and connection beautifully puts the Purpose in Performance.

We are seeking artists of all cultural and linguistic backgrounds, abilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We’re looking for bold, dynamic performers who bring big characters to life and are committed to working collaboratively within an ensemble. Characters must be peformed in the genders as written.
