We promise a curation of unique, heartfelt, mind-bending or gut-wrenching stories that challenge and celebrate humanity. Selected films are unapologetic and free in their exploration of what encapsulates the human spirit.
We are so looking forward to you joining us in this celebration of love for indie films, expression and the human spirit. For little shorts…with BIG hearts!
In 2025, the festival will run over two days, and you can purchase tickets for either day or grab a 2-day pass for the full experience. Come and go as you please and immerse yourself in everything Sparrowland has to offer. Full timetable coming soon!
LOCALS NIGHT

Celebrate, support and inspire local SEQ talent in this community showcase. Meet the makers, pitch yourself to your peers, and pick the brains of industry experts! Or simply enjoy cool shorts made by cool people.
ALL DAY EXTRAVAGANZA
Saturday 31st May 11am-11pm | $45
Stay and play all day at this celebration of film, creativity and the human spirit! The day’s events will include documentaries, international gems, student showcase, animations, workshops, masterclasses, live performances, an industry big wig panel…all culminating in the evening at the final screening and award ceremony for the best in Sparrowland. Come and go as you like with the all-day ticket.
