Back in October, Sparrowland Productions and PIP Theatre hosted our first inaugural ‘PIP Slumber Party,’ a 12-hour extravaganza featuring Brisbane’s local artists and vendors. Together, we raised over $3,000 for Beddown, a charity transforming unused spaces into safe and comfortable sleeping environments for those experiencing homelessness.

It was heartwarming to see our community come together to support ‘s important work. From 10 AM to 10 PM, PIP theatre was graced by boutique artisan markets, a mega plant sale, a terrace gin & whisky bar by Milton Common , workshops, a dating show, a fantastic raffle, and four stages showcasing local actors, comedians, musicians, and demonstrations of special effect makeup and woodworking. We also live streamed the entire event with host Ben Rawson!

It was an unforgettable day, and our gratitude extends to everyone who made it possible. Massive thanks to the Sparrowland Productions team, Jules Berry, and Laura Fois – your efforts made the event truly spectacular. Special kudos to Caroline Sparrow; her ability to build connections and foster community is truly admirable. To our exceptional vendors, your outstanding merchandise transformed the event into a dynamic showcase, leaving a lasting impact. Of course, a heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated volunteers and staff whose tireless work, even in the heat, ensured the event’s great success.

The day showcased the incredible support and creativity within our PIP community, leaving us continuously amazed by the wonderful people we are surrounded by. If you missed out or are eagerly anticipating the next one, catch us in 2024 – it’s bound to be an even bigger and better bash!
