THE MYSTERIOUS TALE OF THE MARY-CELESTE

By Elizabeth Avery Scott

Directed by Daniel Kirkby

Presented by Perform Australia’s Certificate IV in Acting students

2nd & 3rd September 8pm

Presented by Perform Australia’s Certificate IV in Acting students, The Mysterious Tale of the Mary-Celeste tells the story of a merchant vessel which was found abandoned near the Azores Islands in 1872. Known as a ‘ghost ship’, due to the absence of people on board, the Mary-Celeste has puzzled historians and adventurers alike. No one knows what happened to its crew: was it pirates? Disease? Aliens, even? This play is a mad romp through all the possible explanations… while also pointing to the fragility of human life when we are at the mercy of forces greater than ourselves.
