The truth is how you tell it.

On a rainy night the lives of two Chicago cops, Denny and Joey are thrown into chaos when a bullet is shot through the front window of Denny’s home, threatening his family. But as they recount their contrasting evidence to Internal Affairs, the truth is not as it seems as Denny’s immoral hubris of corruption and lies are revealed. As his lifelong partner on the beat, Joey struggles to bring an increasingly violent and unhinged Denny back from a brink of destruction that will irrevocably change their lives forever. Keith Huff’s explosive play rocked Broadway on its debut as one of the top plays for 2009. In 2026, Pip Theatre and new theatre company Aparo productions is excited to present this searing tragedy of two childhood friends who find themselves on opposite sides of the law they uphold and in love with the same woman. A Steady Rain is a searing tale of loyalty lost and retribution delivered.
