After a sold out 2025 debut, WORKS/IN/CHAOS is back and more audacious than ever.
Salad Days Collective’s development playground returns with three new works and a fresh
lineup of artists ready to throw themselves into the unknown.
Somewhere between a reading and a fully staged production, WORKS/IN/CHAOS is where scripts are tested in the room, not perfected for the stage. Over four weeks, directors, writers, and actors build bold, immediate, and unfiltered versions of BRAND new work, culminating in a two-night showing of staged-works-in-progress.
This year’s program dives into the absurd, the intimate, and the uncomfortably familiar. Staged as a 90-minute continuous showing, all three works unfold back to back in one sitting, forming a theatrical experience you won’t quite find anywhere else. Have a look at the shows below:

OUR HOUSE

SYNOPSIS
Ed is tasked with building a house. Toya will kill him if he fails.
What begins as a simple premise quickly unravels into a brutal, surreal power play where
control, care, and survival collide. A house might be an obvious metaphor for a relationship, but a self imposed cage is still a cage.
Deliciously dark and quietly grotesque, Our House examines what we build when we try to build a life with someone else.
DANCE FOREVER!

When three players are pulled out of their screens and into the world of the game, what starts as competition spirals into a surreal, high stakes reality where identity, control, and connection begin to fracture.
Sharp, chaotic, and eerily familiar, Dance Forever! asks what happens when the systems we escape into start shaping who we are and who we are allowed to be.

A man calls out for his missing cat and reality starts to break.
A housemate becomes something else entirely. A paranoid stranger arrives convinced the world is ending. A cowboy who may or may not be Death walks through the door.
Absurd, chaotic, and quietly devastating, Spaceman spirals through grief, guilt, and connection at the edge of everything.
Raw. Unpredictable. Completely alive.
